Do you remember the famous case of 2007, when three employees of an outsourcing provider stole more than $350,000 from Citibank customers? And this is just one example in a long list of similar frauds. Are you aware of the security risks of outsourcing projects? How do you choose the right provider, the one you can trust? I've learned a lot from our experience in providing outsourcing services and mostly from our customers' needs. In this relationship, trust is crucial but not enough! You have to do your homework on a lot of other critical aspects that will ensure your data is protected and intellectual property is respected. We've put all our know-how in a white paper that aims to give practical tips on what to ask and to expect in an outsourcing relationship, in terms of security: http://www.outsourcing-factory.com/en/stay-informed/white-papers/bpo-security-issues.html . What are your experiences with security issues in outsourcing projects?
It comes down to one major point - integrity. Without integrity, a company and its leadership lack discipline to be an outsourcing alternative. A company can file all the documentation that it desires, but if there is no integrity, then the company will share information without regard and respect of the patent/trade secret holder. People must fully trust the businesses that perform their outsourced business and the outsource business must provide the integrity and trust to help those businesses become successful.
For our business, we know that if we are to become successful, we must develop the trust and integrity to ensure that our clients are successful. We see many that are in the outsourcing arena that should not be trusted. We also see the opportunities where I would like to personally invest to help out a situation and ensure its success.
In the medical field, one thing always stands out. If I help out, I may save my life some day. We all need to focus on the reasons for doing what we do.
